ChatGPT can be an incredibly useful tool that is used in all industries and professions. With the knowledge of the entire world at its finger tips ChatGPT is able is able to pull together mountains of information and answer whatever question you throw at it. This week, we asked ChatGPT to summarise every NRL club in one word to see whether it could accurately capture a clubs entire history.

Many Clubs and their fans will be pleased to hear that ChatGPT gave their team a positive appraisal. For example, the Broncos were summarised as a ‘powerhouse’ and the Roosters were ‘elite’. Other clubs had words assigned to them that reflected their attitude such as the Bulldogs being described as ‘tough’ and the Sharks as ‘resilient.

Some of the older clubs in the competition were summarised with words that captured their rich history. The Rabbitohs were encapsulated with the word ‘tradition’ and the Dragons were summarised with the word ‘heritage’. For some of the newer clubs they were viewed optimistically with the Dolphins described as ’emerging’ and the Titans being labelled as having ‘potential.

But unfortunately ChatGPT did not see all clubs with such positivity with a couple of teams being given negative or pessimistic words to summarise them. The Warriors were labelled as being ‘unpredictable’ which is probably a bit unfair. Whereas the Tigers were simply described as ‘struggling’ which is a tough pill to swallow seeing as they are certainly on the rise in 2025.
